Well, it's two days after we played our first real show at Sodie's this past Tuesday. It was a whole lot of fun. We got to see what wrinkles need to be ironed out--namely some stage presence stuff and a few things about the playing of our songs. All in all, it went well. We made some mistakes on songs--one song train wrecked. One of my guitars cut out twice. We got jacked over on the cash (we brought in 98% of the crowd but only took 1/3). Literally, the other band played to four of their friends and 3 members of our band. We had a packed house. Oh well. Next time (Feb. 3), it'll be our show and we'll take the big cut.
Here's the positives: we got 60 bucks, Adam and I both got 2 free beers, girls thought Adam was hot, people had fun, we had fun, we got another gig, we made some contacts, we played to a packed house, I saw some people I hadn't seen since high school, we inspired a friend's band to practice more, we had a learning experience, and we got some motivation to keep playing hard.
It was fun. Thanks to all of you who came out. Please come see us on February 3rd at Sodie's again.
